Checklist
Weekly cleaning checklist
This is for a normal household that wants one steady weekly clean instead of a long weekend reset. The jobs are grouped by room and listed in a sensible order. The minutes are rough planning figures for an average-sized room, so adjust them after you time yourself once.
Your ticks are saved only in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere. Clear them at the start of each week.
The rules behind the order
The list follows three plain rules that most cleaning guidance repeats. Work from top to bottom so dust and crumbs fall onto surfaces you have not cleaned yet. Work from dry to wet, so you do not smear dust into damp surfaces. Do floors last, because everything above them drops something. Spraying a cleaner and letting it sit while you do something else is also standard advice, since many products need contact time to work.
Using it without burning out
If the full list is too long for one day, split it by room across several days. The weekly schedule builder will do that for you, and the cleaning time estimator shows how long a week of this takes in your home. For a faster daily upkeep habit, see how to keep a home cleaner without spending all day cleaning.
Use one product at a time, wear gloves for bathroom work, and open a window. Never mix bleach with ammonia or acids; the cleaner mixing checker explains the common pairs.
Where this comes from
The order of work (top to bottom, dry to wet, floors last) is the common sequence given in general household cleaning guidance. The minutes are planning assumptions made for this page, not measured times, and your home will differ. This checklist is general information, not professional advice.
